Privacy Policy
Image Compressor – KB & MB processes images locally on your device. The app does not upload, store, or transmit your image files to our servers, and it does not require an account.
Information processed on your device
When you select an image, the app reads the image pixels and basic technical properties needed to compress it. A local history record may contain the source display name, byte sizes, dimensions, output format, save URI, and creation date. This history is stored only on your device and can be removed from the app. Removing a history entry does not delete the saved image itself.
Image metadata is removed by default. If you explicitly enable “Preserve metadata,” common capture-date and camera EXIF fields may be copied into the saved output image. Precise GPS metadata is controlled by a separate “Preserve photo location” option, remains off by default, and is copied only when both metadata options are enabled.
Advertising and consent
The app may show Google AdMob ads: a home banner, a small banner on a successful single-image result, an occasional interstitial after you leave a successful result, and an optional rewarded ad to unlock compressing more than three images at once. Ads are requested only after Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent where required, including the EEA/UK. You can review or change ad privacy choices from Settings → Ad privacy.
Google and its advertising partners may process information such as a device advertising ID, IP address, device and app identifiers, ad interactions, diagnostic information, and approximate location inferred from your IP address. This may be used to deliver and measure ads, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations. The app does not send image contents, image URIs, filenames, or private EXIF values to ad networks.
If you do not consent to ads, compression and saving continue to work. A batch of more than three images may be limited to the first three unless a rewarded ad is completed. Where supported, ads may instead be non-personalized or limited. For more information, see Google's How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and Privacy Policy.
Analytics and diagnostics
The app may use Firebase Analytics to collect coarse, non-image events such as selected target bucket, source-size bucket, output format, whether an operation succeeded, and whether an ad was shown. It does not send image contents, image URIs, filenames, or private EXIF values as analytics parameters.
Firebase Crashlytics may receive crash and non-fatal diagnostic information. Availability depends on the distribution build. Google processes this information under its Privacy Policy.
Storage and sharing
Saved images are written through Android MediaStore to the device Pictures collection. Sharing occurs only after you choose Share and select a destination app. That destination's privacy practices then apply.
Your choices
You can turn metadata preservation off, remove local history records, delete saved images through your device's media manager, manage ad privacy from Settings, or uninstall the app to remove app-private data.
Children's privacy
The app is intended for a general audience aged 13 and older. The app itself does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Google advertising services may apply their own age, consent, and data-handling requirements.
Changes to this policy
If a future version changes how information is collected, used, or shared, this page and the relevant store disclosures will be updated before that version is released. The latest version of this page will always show the effective date below.
